Greene County Genealogy Project
About The Project
The Greene County History CD Project was begun in 1997 as a cooperative effort between the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library and the Worthington-Jefferson Township Public Library. It was financed by a $40,000 Library Services Technology Grant awarded by the Indiana State Library. COMARCO did the original conversion of the print material to digital form.
We wish to thank the Greene County Health Department who made the Birth and Death record indexes available to us. They are current to the year 1994. The Project included many other Greene County history and local family genealogy items. They are available on CD at the local libraries. In the future we hope to make more of this information available on-line. Also available at the Bloomfield library are microfilm copies of the Bloomfield newspapers from 1888-1998. At the Worthington library one can view the Worthington newspaper from 1855-current.
